Over the years, Everris has continually refined and improved Osmocote technology to make the delivery of plant nutrition even more efficient, less wasteful and more closely in tune with plant growth. Because each Osmocote generation— Osmocote® Plus, Osmocote® Pro and Osmocote® Classic—offers different features and benefits, it’s important to understand how each product should be used and under which circumstances.

Osmocote Plus: The only Osmocote product to feature Everris’ Patterned Nutrient Release Technology™, Osmocote Plus delivers pre-defined release patterns and longevity in Hi-Start®, Standard® and Lo-Start® formulations. A homogeneous product, it offers a full season of coated N-P-K, magnesium and micronutrients. Because Osmocote Plus’s patterned release is designed to provide nutrients when crops need them the most, this particular generation of Osmocote gives growers their maximum return on investment by optimizing plant quality. Osmocote Plus is designed for general nursery and greenhouse production, and it is especially useful under special circumstances where performance is a top priority, such as sensitive or high-value crops. It can be used with dibbling equipment, incorporated into growing media or surface applied for maximum flexibility.

Osmocote Pro: A blended product that may contain coated, uncoated and/or slow release components with a pre-defined longevity of N-P-K, Osmocote Pro also features added micronutrients, eliminating the need to purchase a separate micronutrient product. Available in over 20 formulations, Osmocote Pro delivers consistent, reliable performance at a good cost-in-use. Osmocote Pro is best used in outdoor applications such as general container nursery production, and can be both incorporated or surface applied.

A brand new formulation of Osmocote Pro, Osmocote Pro with Fusion Technology™ , combines the nutritional benefits of Osmocote Pro with a unique fusing agent that keeps fertilizer prills in the pot—a particularly important feature in outdoor nurseries where pots are often blown or knocked over.

Osmocote Classic: More than 40 years after its introduction, Osmocote Classic is the original product that started it all. A homogeneous product with coated N-P-K in pre-defined longevities, it continues to offer proven, reliable performance for general nursery and greenhouse production. For optimal results, incorporate Osmocote Classic into growing media and combine with Micromax® Micronutrients.
